Terms of Service

Last updated 6 August 2026

These terms cover your use of RateThumbnails.com. By using the site you agree to them.

What the service does

RateThumbnails.com analyses a YouTube thumbnail you upload, along with the title and description you provide, and returns a score out of 10 with written feedback across six criteria. It also shows your thumbnail rendered at the sizes YouTube displays it and alongside other videos.

The rating is guidance, not a prediction

The score is produced by an AI model applying a set of design criteria. It is an opinion, not a measurement, and it is not derived from click-through data. We make no promise that a higher score will produce more views, a better click-through rate, or any commercial result whatsoever. Treat it as a second opinion on your design work and nothing more.

AI output can be wrong, inconsistent between runs, or simply unhelpful. You are responsible for your own judgement about what you publish.

Free use and credits

What you upload

You must own the images you upload, or otherwise have the right to use them. Do not upload anything unlawful, sexually explicit, hateful, or that infringes somebody else's rights. We may refuse service or cancel a license key if this is ignored, without a refund.

Availability

The service is provided as it is. We do not guarantee it will be available at any given moment, and it depends on third parties — including the AI provider — who may have outages of their own. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service, we will give at least 30 days' notice, and you may contact us within 90 days for a refund of any unused credits.

Pricing changes

We may change prices. Credits you have already bought are unaffected.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for lost views, lost revenue, lost subscribers, or other indirect losses. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

Payments

Purchases are handled by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the merchant of record. That means your contract of sale for the payment itself is with them, and their terms apply alongside these. They handle billing, invoices and sales tax.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Swedish law. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in, and you may bring a dispute before the courts there.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
